Thoroughly Equipped
Orchid Blue is thoughtfully equipped with everything you need for a comfortable, relaxing, and memorable stay on Fraser Island. The home caters to large groups of up to 20 guests, offering multiple living zones, expansive decks, and a full suite of modern conveniences, all while staying true to its off-grid, eco-conscious design.
Kitchen & Dining
The house features two fully equipped kitchens—one on each main level—each with large refrigerators (approximately 1000L), separate ovens, double sinks, and ample pantry space. Guests will find plenty of cookware, cutlery, glassware, and crockery, as well as ice cube trays and coffee mugs. Both levels also include indoor dining tables (seating up to 10) and outdoor dining spaces with Weber Family Q barbecues.
Living Areas and Bedrooms
Each level includes a large lounge area with a 50-inch flat screen TV offering satellite and streaming services. Ceiling fans are installed in every bedroom, and additional pedestal fans are available throughout the home for extra airflow.
Outdoor Spaces
Guests will enjoy multiple large decks, each furnished with outdoor seating and bar-style seating with ocean views. There’s also a drinks fridge, stubby coolers, and a fire pit featuring a cut-out relief of Fraser Island—perfect for photos and marshmallow roasting.
Laundry & Extras
The laundry room includes a washing machine, separate toilet, and a chest freezer (ideal for storing bait and overflow food items). A starter pack of cleaning supplies is provided—spray and wipe, chux cloths, paper towels, dishwashing liquid, and more—to help you settle in with ease.
Connectivity & Power
The home is powered by a robust off-grid solar and battery system. While high-draw appliances like electric frypans and heaters are not permitted, the system supports all regular usage comfortably. Unlimited Starlink internet is available with no bandwidth restrictions, providing reliable, high-speed internet access for multiple devices at once—great for streaming, work, or staying connected.
Bedding & Linen
All beds come with pillows, doonas, and mattress protectors. Guests are required to bring their own linen, including fitted sheets, doona covers, and pillowcases. A detailed linen list per bedroom is available on the website to make packing easy.
Other Essentials
We provide small starter quantities of tea, coffee, sugar, salt, and pepper. Additional food and supplies can be purchased at the nearby trading post, which also sells essentials like fuel, bread, milk, and frozen goods.
