“We had a fabulous stay at Karly and James’ place! The house had everything we needed and more. Perfect for large groups/families and very kid friendly. The decks were excellent for entertaining and relaxing as well as whale watching. We saw so many whales from the various decks as well as from the lounge room! The outdoor fireplace was an added bonus and a great place to sit around after a day of fishing and exploring. Can’t fault our stay and are already planning our next trip. “Our host was great to talk to and booking was made simple and easy. The house is beautiful and in a great location at Orchid Beach. The separate living spaces made it super easy for our group when it came to cooking etc as there are two separate kitchens and a barbecue on both the 1st and 2nd level balcony. “We have stayed at Orchid Blue with 3 other families several times and are very much looking forward to going again in December. The house fits several families with plenty of space. The large decks offer amazing views which get cool breezes and provides space to spread out. The kitchens are well appointed and have everything you need. Carly is excellent to deal with and quick to respond when needed . We love Orchid Blue and highly recommend it to families who are looking for a home that fits several families in comfort.”

“What a magic place. Orchid blue is a credit to the owners who keep it beautifully clean with green lawns and lush gardens. Close to the beach where it is just wonderful for young children to swim and play at the southern end of Orchid Beach at Waddy point. It is great to come home to a hot shower and a warm bed in Orchid blue accommodation.”

“We had a magical time here with two families enjoying the expansive layout, the well thought out amenities and extras were amazing and we never wanted for anything when using the kitchen and areas of the house. Beautiful views and close walking location to Orchid Beach Trading post for coffees and dinner at the pub. The addition of the fire pit was a highlight with evenings spent outside enjoying this space. Highly recommend!”

“Perfect space for multiple families wanting to explore Fraser Island. Karly was accommodating to our needs with our boats and trailers for our stay. “Family reunion with friends Orchid Blue is so good we almost want to keep it a secret! Incredible place and wonderful hosts The house is absolutely amazing: fantastic facilities and wonderful views. 15 of us fitted in well with the teenagers in the loft, the visitors on the second floor and the locals on the first. We were woken by kookaburra, the whales put on a show we could watch from the balconies through the morning. The lorikeets and osprey performed aerobatics with sound through the day. The welcome pack was a bonus and the outdoor fireplace magical. Bring firewood, kindling and a good story or two. We look forward to coming back again. Jane and Mark, family and friends.”

“Tick all the boxes This is a large 3 level home that is ideal for two to three families to comfortably share. The advert is accurate and the house is well presented and clean. The decks offer plenty of space relax outdoors as well as the large front yard with fire place. Karly and Family communicate well and are excellent hosts. “Relaxing The house is well setup for a relaxing stay with a large group. The views from the house and the large verandah’s provide a wonderful space to pass the time. The house location was only a 5 minute walk to the Trading Post. The Driftwood Bar provided excellent meals. The house has good ventilation and cross breeze as the humidity took a little bit of getting use too. Thoroughly recommend the location for exploring the island and a great place to escape the busy world as the location provided a quiet comfortable environment to enjoy time with family”

“Great house, plenty of space for all the families. Beautiful area, quite remote away from most places on the island but I loved it. The only thing I would suggest is small amount of condiments like salt and pepper and oil only because we didn’t pack it thinking it might’ve been there but other than that, perfect place, great for families and kids beautiful area. Karly was amazing to deal with. Even called me personally. Will definitely be back.”

“Orchid Blue is the perfect location if you want to explore the top end of K’gari. Close to Champagne pools, Indian head, Waddy Point and a 45 minute trip to Wathumba. The place was perfect for our group of 14 people. It has plenty of space for us all to hang out and not feel on top of each other. Karly sent us a great information pack and was awesome at making sure we arrived safely. She also left us a lovely welcome pack which we were not expecting but really appreciated. A nice touch All in all it’s a great beach house in a great location!”

“What a terrific place to spend a week with the family. The location could not be any more perfect, with Waddy Point just a quick drive away – perfect for fishing off the rocks, protected swimming for the kids and a great beach. The house itself was ideal, our family group hired the entire house and we had all the space we could need, with roomy verandahs and the use of two kitchens. The kitchens were well-equipped, bedrooms comfortable and the place was very clean and modern. An added bonus was the huge backyard – great for a game of backyard cricket. We’ll definitely be returning, we loved our stay thank you.”

“Recently my partner and i stayed at Orchid Blue, the house was very spacious with two levels of living space and two kitchens, it would be great for two large groups or families. The kitchens were very provisioned and had everything we needed. The house was very clean and well presented. We enjoyed having drinks on the deck whilst watching the Whales go by and play out in the ocean, i also enjoyed watching the Sunrise and Sunset on the very top Deck. The Drinks fridge and bar style setting was very social. We found the house to be very central in Orchid beach, being only one street back from the Drift wood bar/fuel station made it handy for a quick drive to get some forgotten small nick nacks and to grab a nice cold one from the pub. My partner and i are looking forward to our next stay after Christmas with a group of our friends. I would highly recommend this place to others.”
