Like Indian Head further south, Waddy Point is one of the handful of places on Fraser Island (K’gari) where the sand gives way to solid rock — a genuinely ancient volcanic outcrop anchoring the island’s northern dunes, tens of millions of years old. It’s a fantastic spot for whale, dolphin and shark sightings from the clifftop, a popular launch point for boat fishing trips, and a popular camping area besides.
Waddy Point is just 3 km east of Orchid Blue, right at the northern edge of Orchid Beach — genuinely one of the closest attractions to the house.
