Fast Facts About Fraser: Wildflower Season

Every spring, Fraser Island’s (K’gari) heathlands put on a real show — wallum banksias, boronias, and the rare Fraser Island creeper are among the many species that paint the dunes and heath with colour. It’s one of nature’s better floral festivals, blooming from around August through October each year.

You don’t need to go looking for it — the heath around Orchid Beach itself is part of the same wallum country, so a walk near the house during the season is often reward enough. Bring your camera, not your picking hands!
